Dr. Annavarapu and his team very accommodative to work diligently with our International admissions office, office of student's affairs, office of marketing and communications, office of the Provost and office of the President. Kumar's passion in higher education and to create such an American Education Project to prospective students, faculty, and administrators of higher education in India is commendable.
You and the very capable team which was led by you, had put in enormous time and effort visiting a record number of universities in the U.S. Through the interviews you had conducted with students and faculty you have put the spotlight on those institutions and on the achievements of the faculty of Indian origin in those institutions. I applaud those efforts and express my thanks.
I would like to commend you personally and your management for taking initiative on the American Education Project. The idea of giving first-hand information to the Indian students from the people who are part of the US higher education system is extremely useful.
To this end, Dr. Kumar and his team did a wonderful and a meticulous job in seeking the suggestions of Indian faculty members, Research Scientists, Post-docs and Students within our university, Duke University, and other Universities within the USA. I strongly believe that Dr. Kumar's team work is of immense value for the benefit of prospective Indian students who aspire to come to the USA for a better future and also in fulfilling their dreams.
This project requires a lot of passion and commitment. I am glad that you are leading this initiative with such enthusiasm. You and your team are doing an amazing job! I personally want to thank you for your visit to the University of Houston and for discussing in detail regarding graduate and pharmacy education in the US.
Also, I feel that this is the right project in the right time providing the accurate first-hand information to the Indian youth. Further, the interesting thing and the beauty of this project is that not only it is helpful for students in choosing the right university, but the American 543 universities would also be greatly benefitted with these bright and motivated students, which will in turn strengthen the society and humanity.
I want to applaud you for the wonderful series on U.S. universities that you are putting together. This is a great initiative as this series can inform viewers and readers in India about the U.S. higher education system, thereby helping Indian students make better decisions while applying to U.S. universities. The recent mass deportation of unsuspecting Indian students attending certain U.S. universities underscores the need for such as series.
You have plans to do the same for 60 more American universities for a total of 100 universities and colleges, which is expected to be a world record. Further, you noted that, at each university, you have taped about 10 professor interviews, 30 student interviews, and interviews with international student advisors, provosts, and presidents.
Initiatives such as yours to gather first-hand information for dissemination to students who are planning to invest significant amounts of time and money in higher education are extremely useful. These efforts help applicants make the best choices from among their available options, to find the best fit between academic program offerings and individual aspirations.
